What is Hypnosis?

Hypnotherapy and Hypnosis are the quickest and most effective method to resolve many issues in your life, faster than counselling or cognitive behaviour therapy. Our emotions can affect our everyday life both psychologically and physically. Deep seated emotions can manifest as physical symptoms, phobias, insomnia, changes in behaviour and many more, everybody is different and no hypnotherapy session is ever the same.

All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. No-one can hypnotise you without your consent. Hypnosis is always self-induced, but can be taken to a deeper level with the assistance of a Hypnotherapist. You are always in control and can choose to leave the hypnotic trance at any time. You cannot get ‘stuck’ in a trance, and you will not do or say anything that has not first been censored by your conscious mind. Clinical hypnosis is a collaborative effort in which the therapist helps the client to achieve a trance-like state at will. In essence the therapist facilitates the client’s ability to enter trance, and once in trance, helps the client to make the desired therapeutic changes.
